Bikram’s Beginning Yoga class is for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level.
Feeling nervous, scared or a little intimidated by the demands of Bikram Yoga? No problem! Even certified Bikram teachers started their journey with jitters. Bikram designed this class for beginners, so with a little practice and experience, you will quickly feel right at home. Get the tips to help you kick-start the most wonderful yoga program in the world. And of course, it helps to bring a big bottle of water (available for sale at the studio in case you forget), a positive attitude and an open mind to your class. Finally, be prepared to sweat a bucket and have a great time!

It's Good to Note

  • For first–timers, arrive 20 minutes before class to complete your registration.
  • Remember your goal is to stay in the room for the whole 90 minutes.
  • Never be afraid to sit down when you need to.
  • Feeling dizzy, nauseous or light-headed is normal when you first get started.
  • Don’t feel self-conscious; it’s helpful to realise that people’s focus is on themselves.
  • Take your second class within 24 hours, although you may experience discomfort such as muscle aches.
  • Drink plenty of water after the class.
  • Yoga mats and bath towels are provided to all members.

Make Sure You Have:

  • An empty stomach – don’t eat 2 to 3 hours before the class.
  • Proper hydration – drink plenty of water throughout the day before the class.

Outfit:

  • Wear light and fitted clothes – we need to see your knees! Sport bra, shorts or tankini recommended for the ladies.
  • Biker shorts will be ideal for gentlemen or Speedo if you are racy enough.
  • Avoid long sweat pants and heavy t-shirts (our room is 40ºC hot!)
  • Running shorts or any loose-end fitting shorts will not be allowed in the yoga room.
